The Gold Plan was built to prevent tanking. While this format prevents tanking, it's the superior method for another reason.
Teams should not be rewarded for losing.
Imagine if you always were rooting for your team to win, even in down years. If your team earned the #1 draft pick by winning that game instead of losing it. How much more exciting would the end of any given season be if both teams had something to play for, no matter their record. Help me convince the major sports leagues to adopt the Gold Plan.
